Below are some of the questions we have received so far.

You: Why did you go with aluminum over fiberglass for the construction of a Bones?

Bones: Honestly for us it is just preference. We prefer it over fiberglass. Make no mistake, fiberglass boats have been around forever and they're still solid as rocks. We don't want to put all the reasons you should pick our boats over fiberglass on our site. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions. It fits who we are. We are duck hunters and fisherman positioned next to rocky points and break walls and we don't always pay the most attention at 0445 in 6 degree weather. We feel safer in aluminum if we make an error... it's that simple. We know fiberglass is good and strong, we just prefer to make our boats out of AL.

You: Will Bones have hunting blinds?

Bones: Absolutely, it won't be your typical "pop up blind". It will have some major advantages over the blinds out there now with ease of deployment and safety at the heart of the design. Check back soon for the diagrams. We're keeping them secret for now.

You: How much will a Bones cost?

Bones: One Million Dollars! Sorry, just kidding... a little Austin Powers humor there. MSRP on a 22' "Bare Bones" hull will be around 30k per the perimeters stated on the design page. "Bare Bones" will include the hull as described, camo paint, hydraulic steering, SS wheel, 4 cleats, marine electrical and lighting and some other things to make sure you're getting your hard earned dollars worth.

You: Will you ever use skinnier or lesser grade AL to make Bones cheaper?

Bones: No.

You: How's a normal guy going to be able to afford a Bones?

Bones: In this economy we have all become normal guys, meaning people that don't have a lot of "recreational cash" on hand. Bones was created with idea that 2 brothers or 3 friends would have one thing in common... The water.  I am a cold weather duck hunter, in the summer I run, a lot. Maybe I have a brother that just wants to fish down the shore or on the river in the summer but doesn't need it in the winter. No skin off my back, just make sure it's fueled for the Fall when the Eider start to move. You see, it's not just a duck boat or fishing boat, it's a "do a lot of things and split the cost boat"! A couple outdoorsman can buy the boat together and have the boat of their dreams for half the price.

You: Will you offer classes on how to share?

Bones: Haha, no!

You: Will you have a separate military line of Bones?

Bones: No, our boats are being done to a standard that the military or law enforcement agencies will request. This way we don't have to go and recreate a tougher boat to fit their specs. It's already done. You get the same boat as them. The only difference will be small nuances to accommodate their surveillance, security and weapons needs.

You: Will Bones boats be "bulletproof"?

Bones: AL is not "bulletproof"  at close range at this thickness like most normal metals but we will have the ability to add certain measures to protect the passengers to the capacity they desire. On the other hand AL can be "bullet proof"  for certain projectiles at certain ranges.

You: If you could have any boat on the market and Bones did not exist, what would you buy?

Bones: I'd have to say... a  big RockSalt Alloy Boat. They have made an awesome product and have a stellar reputation!

You: What size motor will each Bones need / handle?

Bones: A 150 ish should push it about 35mph's or a little more. The first Bones will have a 250 hp. We'll let you know how that goes!

You: Are the customers able to order a Bones with a layout or options to their specs?

Bones: Yes, they are fully customizable. Note that every boat will be balanced for weight and trim before cutting files are ordered! That just means we are not going to throw things into your boat and have it float crooked.

You: What will the Bones draft be?

Bones: A loaded 22' Bones will draft about 11".

You: Will the Bones AL be properly treated before paint is applied?

Bones: Yes, we will even be providing the process on how we treat it down the road.
